Fics like true blue

"Did you know that tomorrow's full moon is a blood moon?" Goro says, apropos of nothing. "Nope." Ren glances back up at the moon again. Its familiar cratered face gazes back at him patiently, but all of a sudden he feels like he's seeing it in all its loveliness for the first time. "...Are you looking at it right now?" "Do you want me to be?" Goro shoots back, the playful dip of his voice sending Ren's stomach swooping. Do you want me to be? God, he's such an asshole. Ren wishes Goro could hear him roll his eyes over the phone. "It's a yes or no question." He hears rustling, and then footsteps. "Yes, I'm looking at it, too," Goro says softly. -- in which Goro quits his job, cuts his hair, and gets a dog (not necessarily in that order)
