Fics like A Glimpse

John had stopped mistaking strangers for Sherlock in the second year following his death. In fact, he was ready to move on, with Mary. But then he glimpses someone at a pivotal moment, and it changes his life once more. What if the circumstances of Sherlock's return had been less volatile for John? What if John had realized that marrying Mary would be a mistake, the easy path rather than the right one? This is a story of altered circumstances, timing, and a very helpful Mycroft.
