Fics like Those Who Help Themselves

Year 1 and Year 2 of Space:1999 are so different. They are almost like different interpretations of the same theme. Or like alternate universes, where minor differences, different choices in the past, created very different moonbases for our Alphans to inhabit. This story was my first exploration of that theme, and brings the two universes together to provide a better chance of survival for both sets of Alphans. This story set the stage for the Florida Universe stories, and you may recognize some mention of stories of that will be explored later in the Florida Universe. Our Year 1 commander and doctor are referred to by their last names, Koenig and Russell, while the less formal universe of Year 2 refers to them by their first names, John and Helena, in order to lessen the confusion in a very confusing situation.
