Fics like strawberry tarts and other love languages

“That weird redhead guy? All he does is stare angrily at our food,” Epel says, leaning over Trey’s crouched position to wipe a dash of icing sugar off the window. “He looks mad all the time.” “Maybe he’s on a diet,” Silver suggests. “Maybe he’s gluten free,” Ruggie adds. “Maybe he’s homophobic,” says Rook. When several pairs of eyes stare at him pointedly, he responds, “what? Are we not all children of the rainbow?” “You talk like a millennial self-help book,” Jamil says, rolling his eyes. “And anyway,” Ace adds, “it’s not like we’re all wearing name tags that say 'I Like Dick'.” ::: In the middle of the concrete jungle corporate district of the Night Raven Business Hub, Clover Bakery sticks out as a welcome interruption with its generous doling out of baked goods, advice, and warmth. After years of uneventful peace, it's about high time that the Bakery's in for a serving of romance and a heaping of chaos. Or: a story about learning how to let people in, the practically magical healing ability of good food, and how to make the perfect strawberry tart.
