Fics like Burn Me To The Ground (Divergent scene from book "Conspiracy in Death")

Set in J.D. Robb's Conspiracy in Death, after Eve Dallas loses her badge due to a set-up. She losses her way and her sense of self. Only Roarke can pull her out and save her. They always do. Save each other. This is a divergent piece after Eve is ready to go to Roarke and is looking for him to soothe her, but he meets her with anger instead. Perhaps that was what she needs. Perhaps what she needs is a little bit more, to push under the surface, to give and to receive, to be filled so completely that it soothes over the intense emptiness she feels when her identity is threatened. Or.. The part after she beats up the combat droid, and they seek each other out to deeply consume each other, and burn in lust and love, and to claim and be claimed. --- This is just another piece for me to delve into Roarke and Eve's dynamics, and to write some good smut. In no way, does this reflect the work of the original author, for whom I have a deep and healthy respect for. There's a short excerpt in the beginning from the actual book for some context before entering the scene.
