Fics like And Who's Going to Feed Him?

Qui-Gon has a tendency to bring home pathetic lifeforms, but his involvement usually ends there. The Maverick, Master of the Living Force, is really not the best at follow-through. After years with his master, Obi-Wan Kenobi has adapted to Qui-Gon’s habits. But a slave boy from Tatooine is not remotely similar to an exotic carnivorous plant or a misunderstood kept pet monster. On the journey back to Coruscant, Obi-Wan Kenobi starts doing what he always does: handling the numerous crucial details of making Qui-Gon’s latest spacebrained adoption work (or, at least, conveying the newest pathetic lifeform to its best sanctuary, preserve, or forever home). This time, Qui-Gon notices. So does the pathetic lifeform. And Anakin Skywalker’s new forever home might be with Obi-Wan himself. An AU where Obi-Wan Kenobi gets a little more credit from the start; the Force likes Obi-Wan and Anakin together; everyone gets a choice; and after the occupation, Padmé pays her planet’s debts in a way that matters.
