Fics like Peiskos

"We want you here— you and Chan— you can feel it too, right? How— how right you fit into our lives— like you were always meant to be here— right between us.” Jeonghan wanted to stay. He desperately wanted to stay. He wanted to tell them everything— everything Daeho ever did to him, to Chan, what Chan was— but he couldn’t risk Chan’s life for the chance at happiness. Even if they accepted Chan as a human, on the very rare chance that could actually happen, they would never be able to accept him as one of them. He would always be the outsider, always be the weak link, and Jeonghan would never let anyone treat Chan like he was less just because he was different. “Maybe in another life,” he replied, voice nothing more than a whisper. “But in this life, Chan and I will leave when it’s safe to travel.” OR Chan stumbles into the second nicest wolf after his appa one day in the woods who offers them shelter from the storm. They stay longer than either of them ever expected and find more than they thought possible with a pack that shouldn't want anything to do with them.
