Fics like Three Steps Back

“Michael! Mike!” That’s Elizabeth’s voice, he thinks. He hasn’t heard it in years now, but it is undoubtedly hers. “Evan stole my doll and he won’t give it back!” “I don’t have it! What would I want with your doll anyway, Liz?” And that’s Evan’s. Nine year old Evan, six year old Evan, he’s always sounded the same. His voice is slurred, he’s obviously just woken up to Elizabeth’s anger. Michael gets up shakily. His legs almost buckle as he walks towards the door, but he keeps moving because he so, so desperately wants to see his siblings again. He wants to see Evan after fourteen years, and Elizabeth after twelve. His hands are shaking when they reach for the door handle, and he’s barely able to turn the knob without breaking down. Or; Michael Afton wakes up in 1983. He vows to save himself, but more importantly, his younger siblings.
