If determination is an unstoppable force, an undefeatable will pushing forward through any obstacle to determine the end of its own story, then perseverance is an immovable object. A soul that perseveres is a pitiful thing, incapable of moving forward by its own power. But despite everything, it remains unyielding against the relentless tide of sins and pain that threaten to pull it under. Such a soul may not be able to determine the end of its own story, but it will persist to the end of whatever story it finds itself in, one way or another. Furude Rika is sixteen years old now, but she has experienced one hundred more than that. Having persisted through an endless, blood-spattered summer over and over until she reached an ending where she survived. When she falls into the Underground to find herself inserted back into another repeating cycle of hope, despair, and death... even then, she continues to persist. And when she can unveil the story behind the determined human who fell down before her… When she can unveil the story behind the pitiful monster whose existence mirrors her own… Perhaps then, she may reach an end to the Underground’s tale where the monsters who reside within no longer cry.
