“Karen can’t connect to anything and I can’t check on Sam and Bucky and I can’t help you—I used my mask and some leaves and some like, branches to staunch—well, they’re not branches—not really strings—forest—items—” “Good as new,” Tony says, and he squeezes Pete’s hand again and slowly opens his eyes. Trees shooting up into the night sky, looking elongated and warped with whatever trauma his brain is currently experiencing. They sway with the soft breeze, knocking against each other, big feather duster. Tony’s whole body feels sliced and diced, and thinking about what happened brings up flashes of falling and spinning around like a boomerang and if that was happening to him it was happening to Peter, too. He glances at him.
