One fact about Stanley: he has never known the touch of another person. It's natural, especially for someone who's been alone for thousands upon thousands of resets, trapped in an empty, barren office. So when he finally breaks out, maybe he could be excused for— ahem— sneaking some affection from the only other sentient being within touching distance. Even if that person is supposed to be his worst enemy, and, well... not quite human. Or: Five times Stanley touched the Narrator, and one time the Narrator did.
