Fics like Clinging to Ambiguity

It’s obvious Tobi is his age. It’s also obvious that Tobi spends far too much time working, and with Rei, for someone with parents—at least ones that care. Rei doesn’t know which option is more likely, and honestly, he doesn’t care to find out. It’s almost like Tobi is like just like him, someone without a past or a home that truly belongs to him. Digging too deeply into his assumptions feels like he’s wishing these things onto Tobi for his own comfort, so he quietly accepts all new information about Tobi at face value. He can pretend that they’re just two people without pasts, without any deeper meaning.
