Fics like sucker love

Vash gets into a fight. Wolfwood intervenes, perhaps not as reluctantly as he would like. “It was an accident, I swear,” Vash says louder, waving his hands frantically. The man tries to punch again and misses, getting more agitated. Wolfwood is getting annoyed too; contrary to his cool demeanor, he’s fighting the urge to unwrap the Punisher. The urge to safeguard Vash isn’t the part that’s incorrect; it’s the reason why it crops up and beats against Wolfwood’s rib cage that is. He forgets to remind himself that for something as measly as a bar fight, he’s not supposed to care. Because this is his godforsaken life now. They haven’t defined it but Vash won’t let them be just fuckbuddies either, robbing Wolfwood of the last lie he could have told himself. Attachment hadn’t mattered before to Wolfwood; he could brutally sever a tie as quickly as he made it. But Vash is complicated, and Wolfwood can’t stop watching what he previously considered the inevitable change before his eyes.
