Fics like Immersion Therapy

Matthew hovered while the social worker wheeled his new omega placement into the lobby elevator, knowing it was against policy to take custody until they were in his place of residence, but already feeling the urge to nudge the beta aside and carry the omega himself. They looked so fragile unconscious in the wheelchair, dark hair falling forward over their face as they tipped forward against the chest strap. Their feet were bare below their knee length hospital gown. Matthew flipped through their case notes quickly. The omega was listed as Casey, age twenty-four, gender male, last name redacted to protect his family's privacy. When a routine health screening detected an unexplained fever and signs of rapid hormonal changes, he was taken to the nearest hospital for additional testing, and had been cooperative but agitated during the initial physical examination, which had found signs that his seam was opening. At that point he had been sedated to prevent further stress during his presentation heat.
