Buck cancels their plans, but his message leaves Eddie with the wrong impression, and he thinks Buck has hiked the trail to the cliffs to end his life because of a bad call they'd had recently, where Buck hadn't been able to save a child. Buck had just wanted to clear his head, nothing else. Eddie finds him, panics, and tries to channel his inner First Responder as he talks Buck away from the edge. And despite the fact they are talking, neither realizes what the other is thinking, though things clear up for Buck when Eddie jumps him and drags him to safety. Don't worry. They figure it out.
