Fics like heart of the river of the sun

“A true beauty, is he not, halved brother of mine?” Jaemin asks from his rightful seat next to Mark, leaning over one of the armrests to let his lowered voice be heard over the strum of strings. The Djinn sits patient, head cocked slightly to the side and a smile playing on his features like sunlight plays on the surface of water, though there is nothing delicate about it. The dancers circle him and whisk their tunics around, but not once do his eyes leave Mark’s, and he watches with the intent to lure, the intent to capture like he is not the one with braces tight around his wrists here; like he is not the one on his knees in front of half a hundred people; like he is not here for the sole purpose of Mark staking his claim, and not the other way around.
