Fics like Wherever You Go, There You Are

A very loose adaptation of the 1984 gonzo science fiction movie, Buckaroo Banzai: Across the Eighth Dimension. True to the original, there will be no attempt to explain what the other seven dimensions are, but the eighth dimension now contains Wen demons from the Underworld rather than evil Lectroid space aliens. I have shamelessly added cultivators, talismans, cell phones, pseudo-magical dimensional manipulation, positive and negative energy and, of course, romance to the plot. OR A modern AU romance wherein: Lan Wangji is a famous particle physicist, physician, cultivator and rock star (known as Buckaroo Banzai), and Wei Wuxian is the disorganized undercover—or perhaps merely on-the-run—agent (aka, Penny Priddy) sent to assassinate him. You don't need to know anything about Buckaroo Banzai to read this.
