Fics like The Path to Good Luck

On Tuedays and Thursdays, the lucky students from every class were gathered to test and explore the nature of their luck, under various conditions. This is the catalyst for Makoto's first interactions with Nagito Komaeda. Nagito wants to be a good influence on the underclassman...but maybe it will be the other way around? One can only hope. Almost a full year before the Tragedy takes place...can a better outcome be reached? Or just a different kind of bad? --- (“Of course, unspecial people are needed,” Komaeda said. “I never said that they weren’t.” “Well, if we’re needed, how can we be worthless?” “We’re needed because we’re worthless,” Komaeda insisted, with an over-enthusiastic smile. “We get to stand between important people and the meaningless, menial tasks and trifles that would otherwise keep them from greatness.” Suddenly, his smile softened. It didn’t look like the forced polite smile he’d given before or the deferential smile he showed the Ultimates. It looked kind of soft and honest. “Since you’re my kouhai, I’ll help you understand, if it’s too hard.")
