Fics like o bury me not on the lone prairie

Inspired by this Tumblr post https://captainkirkk.tumblr.com/post/628849887874842624/au-where-the-war-ends-for-reasons-fire-lord as well as the myriad of fics already written about it. Hakoda, Chief of the Southern Water Tribe, is busy. He's mourning his wife, trying to reconcile that grief and his burgeoning relationship with his second-in-command, raising two pre-teens, and navigating a tenuous peace. He does not need anything else on his plate. Unfortunately, the Spirits have other plans for him. OR A letter, a ship, and a child turn Hakoda's entire life upside-down again, not even one year after Kya's death.
