Chan looks at Hyunjin like he is a masterpiece. Which doesn’t make sense, because Chan doesn’t love Hyunjin. He doesn’t love Hyunjin like a friend, because they haven’t known each other long enough for such a familiarity. He doesn’t love Hyunjin like that, because their relationship—if you can even call it that, and frankly Hyunjin doesn’t think you could—is a transaction. It’s not real. But here, as they sit next to each other on the grass of the museum’s rooftop bar, it feels like it could be. And that terrifies Hyunjin most of all. or: Recently graduated from art school and struggling to make ends meet, Hyunjin thinks he’s found the perfect solution in offering up his services as a (platonic) escort, especially when approached by Bang Chan, a handsome (but lonely) record producer. And it is the perfect solution—until those feelings become...decidedly less platonic.
