Fics like take me out and take me home

“Daph,” Justin says hoarsely, “Daph, I have a problem.” Her grin drops and she immediately jumps up to look over his shoulder. “What is it? What’s wrong?” He gestures at the screen with his mug. “My advisor just sent me an email about the internships we’re all required to complete in our second year.” “And?” Daphne asks, her eyes flitting across the screen as she tries to spot the problem. “Well, we don’t pick the company. You post the best pieces from your portfolio on the university website, and any interested companies reach out to your advisor and request you.” “And…?” “Look at the list of companies that requested me. Right there, second paragraph.” “Companies, plural? Justin! That’s so great, I’m so proud of you!” “Daph!” Justin protests, his voice cracking. “Okay, okay…reading the list…” He knows when she gets to it, because she gasps and reaches out to squeeze his shoulder. “Oh shit.” “Yeah,” Justin sighs. “Shit.”
