Fics like I Laid the Groundwork

It is a brother's prerogative to think his brother a fool. It is a prince's duty to protect the future of the realm. But when the foolish brother is the King and the King will not entertain any dissenting opinions on his poor choice of a bride then sometimes drastic measures need to be taken for the good of the kingdom. Daemon makes a dangerous move to ensure the security of his niece and the Targaryen family. Rhaenyra begins to establish herself as heir against a drastically changed background of the Red Keep. Everything comes to a head when Daemon returns victorious from the war in the Stepstones.
