Fics like The Heavy Weight of the Avatar's Mark

Gold is the color of royalty in the Fire Nation, the robes of the royal family were decorated with yards of it. Gold is the metal that shaped their crowns, placed on top of their heads to show their statues. Gold is the color of her eyes, malicious and menacing as she stands in front of him with the full intent of killing him. Gold is the color of love, it's the sacred streak around Aang's neck, the color of his soulmate's eyes. The eyes of a princess and the eyes of his killer. Gold is the color that Aang loves and worries about the most. It's the color he wants to protect and wants to shimmer back at him with the same wonder he has for her. He never feared her even when her lighting delivers him to death's doors.
