Fics like making peace with dawn

Tiergan is not a morning person. He hides it relatively well; he never arrives late to Foxfire to fulfill his role as a mentor, never sleeps through a Black Swan meeting. In fact, most people would consider him to be the very thing he is not. In a way, Tiergan supposes, they're right. Waking up early is never a problem for him. But most days, he'd rather sleep in, at least until the sun is up and the sky is no longer painted with streaks of pink and gold that dance across the horizon. He'd rather keep the curtains closed until after the in-between, the colorful moments between night and day. Tiergan doesn't want to hate sunrises, he really doesn't. They are undeniably gorgeous. And yet, he cannot stand to watch the bands of color flourish and fade as the sky lightens, because every time he does, he's pushed back to memories he desperately wishes he could forget.
