Fics like ripped in half (and stitched back together again)

Tommy felt a tingling on his upper arm. He watched the mark ink itself into his skin, permanently. Blue ink, Tommy noted, meaning a platonic soulmate. Good, that’s what Tommy wanted more than anything. He continued to stare at his arm as the mark drew line after line. It didn’t hurt, thank fuck. That was Tommy’s biggest fear. The mark drew itself into a two inch heart with a stitched pattern down the middle, like it had been sewn back up. Two halves of the same whole. Tommy recognized the mark instantly, it’s the one Wilbur had proudly sported for so long, eager to find his own soulmate. It was the first thing Wilbur introduced himself with. A polite greeting of Hi, my name is Wilbur, followed by him proudly showing off his soulmate mark, just in case. OR Tommy turns eighteen and gets his soulmate mark. Angst and miscommunication lies ahead.
