Fics like Take My Hand (Now and Forever)

Daniel took an interest in him back when they were teammates and, for some reason, wasn’t kicking him out of his house now. Even though it was late and they had nothing to talk about. Because Max had no reason to be there. “Shame you’re leaving in the morning,” Daniel said, breaking Max out of his thoughts. “Why’s that?” “I was going to hike up in the mountains tomorrow morning. It would be nice to smoke you on the trails just like I’m going to do on the track.” And, like, Daniel was just filling the air. Because he knew how to talk to people and knew how to fill the silence, but for some reason, Max found himself saying: “I could push my flight.” And, just, what?! OR: The slow burn, Max and Daniel origin story set in pre-season 2021 that nobody asked for, and how I think post-race Abu Dhabi should have gone down. Viva la Maxiel.
