Fics like Ghost of Mine

Within the Cloud Recesses, the ghost of the feared Yiling Laozu haunts the Jingshi. Only one person could see him- and he was just three years old. Sharing a special connection despite memories lost, Lan Yuan spent no time adopting the ghost into his life, sharing mutual comfort with the hurting spirit. So when he was questioned for the red ribbon in his hands, carrying feelings of comfort and the man who’s face wept like a mourning mothers, he lied. “Mama gave it to me.” Through an inquiry session borne of concern, Lan Wangji discovers a lingering spirit. And so as the cultivators turn to Empathy, emotions and truths are revealed, while love and family blossoms in the wake of painful memories. One change at a time, one truth at a time, after forgetting what it was like to be themselves, the Yiling Laozu and Hanguang-jun learn how to face the world together despite the separation of death.
