Fics like be mine, pull me in two

‘You were supposed to dodge.’ The clown is all dishevelled, his lime green hair out of place from how hard they’ve been fighting. Somewhere along the way he lost his tie and one of the skull buttons has burst off his purple suit vest. As soon as Joker says it Bruce knows the fight is over. Joker’s face is twisting up in horror even while his red lipstick is shining, his powder white skin luminescent under the waning moon. He drops the revolver like it’s poisonous. Bruce looks down at his own body like it’s an afterthought. The wound at his chest is smoking a little to match Joker’s gun. He staggers backward, surprised when he sees bone—shards of his own rib, at least one of them—and there’s red trickling out through the bullet’s path before it starts to really speed up. Warning, the lenses are telling him, the letters blasting over the top of his vision. Lung perforated. Seek medical attention.
