Fics like Resolutions

“Can we do fireworks on New Year’s Eve?” “I’m sorry, chum. Ace doesn’t like them.” Ace has been trained not to mind them. Dick’s eyes widen. “He doesn’t?” “They’re loud,” Bruce says. “Even louder to him, because he’s a dog. And he doesn’t understand that they’re not a threat.” Dick’s on his knees the next second, crawling under Bruce’s chair to hug the dog by the neck. “Poor Ace,” he mumbles into the dog’s fur. “It’s okay. We won’t do fireworks.” OR Dick loves fireworks. Bruce doesn't. But he loves Dick, so he makes a bad call.
