Fics like I Love You So

Please, tell him that it wasn't what he'd thought he'd heard. ''I said that it was mom's boyfriend, alright?'' Robby scoffs, rubbing away a singular tear that’s slid down a rosy cheek. Another tear quickly follows. When Robby determines that it's alright to speak, the kid's low voice isn't any less wrought with unspeakable despair. Or any less thick with sorrow. ''He's a lousy drunk. Something mom said must've set him off or fuck I don't know. I'd just gotten home. All I do know is that I couldn't just watch as he beat on her. You happy now that it wasn't me just going about and starting fights, or are you here to preach to me about how I fucked up as well, how I deserved it for getting into it?''
