Fics like Soften the Edges Into Love

“It’s interesting that all your relationships have started because they’ve pursued you.” Namjoon glances over at Jimin. “Like, when was the last time you liked someone first? And actually pursued someone?” Jimin thinks over Namjoon’s observations more carefully. If he could order the ideal man, what would he be like? What qualities would Jimin want him to have? It’s easy to talk about what he’s physically attracted to—he’s always been partial to pretty eyes—but breaking down the type of man that he really feels would make a good partner? That’s harder. Friends to lovers. Namjoon is right in that he’s never had that experience. Every person he’s ever dated has been someone who noticed him from afar and asked him out. He wonders what it would be like to have a comfort level and connection with someone the way he has with Namjoon or any of his other close friends, to be able to laugh and tease and be completely without artifice—and then be able to lean over and kiss them. It sounds pretty damn nice.
