Fics like Battle Scars Prologue, aka Where Cartoon Plot Armor Comes to Die (Like the Future TMNT Boys)

Donatello is faced with the eternal sight of failure. Raphael hears his brother's cries a moment too late. Leonardo fails to fulfill his role as face-man. Mikey just wants his brothers back. (+ very nearly faces a fate worse than death) --- Battle Scars AU Prologue: A Movie-Ending rewrite where the TMNT boys face more permanent consequences from their fight with the Krang-- takes a more mature shift from the source material for some lovely IDW-level plot.
