Fics like in the silence i heard you calling out to me

“I know what you’re thinking,” Robin starts again, hoping to at least break the silence a little. “That I’m unprepared in the crime fighting world, and this just proves why you fired me from being your partner. Yell at me, call me impulsive, do whatever you gotta do as my dad. But whatever you say, I’m not coming back to Gotham.” “No, it’s not that…” Bruce’s voice finally crackles through the speaker. “I just wanted to make sure that you’re okay right now.” Robin returns from Slade's apprenticeship. What he doesn't expect, of all things, is a call for him right after from the Batman himself.
