Fics like The Tale of the Deitree

From unimportant apprentice to beloved builder, this is part one of a retelling of Dragon Quest Builders 2. Once, Anastasia lived in the village of Cantlin. She became an orphan when she was young, and sought to forge a living by becoming the apprentice of a builder. This turns out to be a sorry idea when monsters attack her village; they slaughter everyone they can find, except the builders. Those they bring onto a ship, forcing them to work until they are brought to justice by the higher-ups of the Children of Hargon. As she is on the ship, Anastasia finds favor in the eyes of the monsters themselves. Her luck, however, fails her when a sudden storm comes in and sinks the boat. When she wakes up, Anastasia is on a strange island with no life to be seen... yet. UNDER CONSTRUCTION: I came back to read this in the hopes of finally starting the next section and... wow. I have no idea where I was going with a few of these storylines and there is NO record of them in my notes. I also think I wrote a lot of the characters flat and made the relationship between the Builder and Malroth progress too quickly. I will work on this story and HOPEFULLY begin the next section after a year of adding nothing!
