Fics like Kept these Words Behind My Tongue

Kaveh scowls at Alhaitham from across table, cinnabar eyes narrowed under the blades of his golden lashes. His showy pen hovers over the trace paper. “You were doing that thing again,” Alhaitham says, returning his expression. “That thing with your tongue.” Sticking it out, that is, the moist pink tip curled temptingly over his lower lip. It happens more often than not whenever Kaveh’s concentration slips into deep focus. Of all the man’s terrible habits—and Alhaitham can enumerate several of them—this one has to be the most infuriating. Kaveh still sticks his tongue out when he concentrates. Alhaitham still notices. He’s beginning to think it’s time to show Kaveh just how distracting a tongue can be. Inspired by dominicgray’s fic “hide behind these words.”
