Fics like Duty is the Death of Love

Eulalia of Bethlehem, daughter of Álvaro de Zaragoza, was once promised to the pride and joy of the Kingdom of Jerusalem, King Baldwin IV. But that was a time long ago, now Baldwin is called the Leper and Eulalia is yet to be wed to another. They long for one another and for the love that was stolen away, but duty and pride keep them from pursuing what is true to their hearts. Baldwin seeks peace for his people, the protection of the innocent, and to be by the one he cherishes most. Eulalia seeks her beloved's desires to be recognized and if that means marriage, then she shall comply. Their devotion to duty and their kingdom cannot quite keep them away from one another. Drawn to one another in a court of intrigues, knights that speak lies, and a war that threatens the peace that has long kept their kingdom safe.
