Fics like Burden

How was he supposed to process all of this? All he'd wanted to do was spend the day on the couch, watching some tv show he really wasn't interested in, taking his medicine and drowsing as he recovered from the flu. Instead, he'd been told that Tony wasn't his father, that he was just an obligation, an asset to the company, and that Tony didn't love him. And it hurt. God, did it hurt. Peter wasn't aware of the tears rolling down his already flushed cheeks. He was vaguely aware that he couldn't breathe anymore, but he wasn't sure if that was what he should focus on or if he should focus on the fact that Tony didn't love him. OR: Peter caught the flu and ends up having a conversation with his grandfather. Tony does his best to deal with the aftermath of that conversation.
