The ghost of Macbeth walks alone through the halls of his castle. His footsteps do not echo off the walls as they did in life, however the ghostly silence follows him like a plague among peasants, and the cold air does not dissipate as he enters a room. He walks through his courtyards and kitchens and bedrooms; he walks through doors and under archways. He contemplates the person he became, and the ghost he remains. Power, he decides, is dangerous.
