Fics like Through heaven, hell, and in between. (I wait for you)

Feeling the overwhelming power of Bai Wuxian, Xie Lian realises he won't be able to beat him. but, in a moment of clarity, he comes to an idea. If he can't beat him, then he can find a way to recognise this creature no matter what form it takes. And so he does. He memorises the feel of the calamity's energy. And boy, is he shocked when he feels the same energy coming from Jun Wu... knowing that, there is no way he can continue living in peace while that monster continues the be in heaven. So, he goes in search of more power. At the same time, a nameless ghost ascends, and instead of immediately turning down godhood, decides to take advantage of it. (A.k.a my take on a role reversal AU and what small things would have to change for them to make a different decision. WARNING: it might take YEARS for this fic to be finished. I've written about 20k words but have heavily ran out of motivation for it, so we'll see. I DO however plan to never abandon it, no matter how long it takes.)
