Fics like Irises

Julian gets the message when he’s away in one of the outer provinces, helping to organize the staff of a recently rebuilt hospital, because of course he does. He had noticed Garak coughing a couple of times before he left, had set the back of his hand to one cool gray cheek and found it neither warm nor chilled, and frowned thoughtfully. “You feel fine, but I’d still like to do a scan,” Julian said. “You’ll do no such thing; you’re running behind as it is,” Garak had replied, which really should have been Julian’s cue to force the issue. — After years of living together on Cardassia Prime, Garak begins to succumb to Perek Syndrome, a disease caused by feelings of unreciprocated love. With his friend refusing both surgery or divulging the cause, it's up to Julian to find another form of treatment before it's too late.
