Fics like On A Promise

Gently hadn’t changed his clothes. John didn’t know why he was so stuck on that fact—after all, a lot more interesting things had happened today, including solving a murder, saving a crazy bastard from killing himself via collapsing coal mine, and finding out that said crazy bastard had been shagging his half-sister for weeks. Still, when Gently returned from his conversation with Langham, still wearing his filthy shirtsleeves and braces, John’s brain stuttered to a stop and he could do nothing but stare.
