Fics like A Maternal Concession

Alberta was standing in front of a glass-walled cell, Dimitri standing listlessly just beyond the barrier. Guardian Tanner was in the next cell, sullenly staring at the floor. “Janine! I didn’t expect you,” Alberta said with alarm. “Is there a threat to the school?” “The overall security is fine,” she said. “But the danger is to my son-in-law. He appears to have made a capital error and now my daughter might be a widow before she is a full guardian. It’s my duty as a mother to intervene.” An AU of the season one finale (1x10) not yet aired, where there is no attack on the school and Rose hasn't run away with Mason. Without a battle to redeem him, Dimitri must be saved another way.
