Fics like Darkness at the heart of your love

Obi-Wan starts to hide his braid in the tenth month since the birth of the Empire. He pins it behind the ear every morning, because he can't stand the pitiful looks the newcomers throw his way. It's understandable. They think his Master is dead. They think he mourns, clings to a promise that would never be fulfilled. They think he is just one of the many padawans, orphaned in this devastating massacre. He sometimes wishes it was the truth. His Master, however, is not dead. His Master is alive and he is the Sith that started it all. But Obi-Wan can't bring himself to denounce him even after holding the cold corpses of his younger brothers and sisters. Anakin Skywalker was once everything to him. And Obi-Wan is ashamed to admit that he still is.
