Fics like The Never War

On the eve of the New War, the Tenno gather to formulate plans and to prepare for the oncoming Sentients. Deep in their hearts, they longed to save the Lotus, but first they must survive the war. Unknown to them, the New War had already come to past in an entirely different timeline. Were nothing to change, an equal outcome was entirely possible, but a Drifter has come far too early and far more mysterious than the one supposed to arrive. The Drifter, holding unknown allegiances, warns them of a war that never happened but a war they must fight all the same. The Never War remains isolated outside the possibilities of Eternalism, but the pain and losses they suffered are entirely too real. (Part of the Cross Crisis project but has been designed to be read standalone. Nothing else in the series needs to be read to understand this work.)
