Louise hears about him through the grapevine. Different people drop different pieces of information, each one stumbling across it the way only people can —social media, attending the same event, a friend of a friend, or just plain old eavesdropping. However it happens, Louise finds the information always reaches her. Sometimes she finds it aggravating. Other times, she finds it oddly comforting. Every time, she feigns annoyance, but she always tucks the information away in the back of her mind. Logan’s always had a way of catching her off guard, of coming into her life just when she thinks he’s left it, and Louise figures it can’t do any harm to keep tabs. Just in case.
