Fics like too good to be true, gold-plated

“You know, going to school doesn’t mean going bankrupt here, Jack,” Izzy says, leaning deep into his couch. “It’d help you, probably. Get your head out of your arse a bit.” “Aw, you like my head all up your ass, don’t you, baby?” “Izzy’s right though, and it’s not like the hardest to get in either, mate,” Ed joins in. “You could room with us!” “No, he can’t.” Izzy sends a glare Ed’s way. “We’ve stirred up enough trouble with the housing as it is. Just saying he could go to school.” “I ain’t got the brains for it, Bas,” Jack says. “Yeah, you fucking do.” He says it simply, firmly, and Jack has no reason not to believe him. Izzy’s never lied to him. -0- Scenes spanning Jack’s life, including moving to the UK, falling for Izzy, and growing up with his son, Bas.
