Fics like Excita, Marce

Marcus wonders why and how, over and over again. He never quite manages to wonder who or why him. He is Marcus and soon enough he knows that this body is - was? - Marcus as well. Marcus Flavius Aquila is a much grander name than his own and he has no doubt that he will fail to live up to it. Interesting as the Roman Empire is, Marcus wanted to study it, not live it. Living the life of another man, Marcus can do nothing but take it one slow, painful step at a time. Literally.
