Fics like when beauty dwells in the dark

In a world where everyone carries Jewels, a taint has taken root, threatening to destroy the continent from within. In the thousand years since the Joining, too many of their kind have learned to find pleasure in the pain and humiliation of others. Jimin and Jungkook are the first to possess Onyx Jewels in living memory. Their strength has made them targets of those who don’t understand their power, and of those who seek to use it for their own purposes. They had each resigned themselves to lives of solitude, but the whims of fate have other plans. Hundreds of years ago, a Dreamer foretold a pair of mates who would destroy the world as they knew it, offering rebirth through destruction. But first they’ll have to find each other, and if they want to survive what lies ahead, they'll have to embrace the darkness dwelling in their own souls. Along the way, Jimin and Jungkook will be forced to ask themselves: what, exactly, is the meaning of destiny? . . .
