Fics like Harry Potter: Durmstrang Year One

Many had called Igor Karkaroff a weak man over the years but few would call him stupid; self serving yes, but not stupid. That very nature was what brought him to a sleepy suburb of Surrey in July 1991. You see he knew that Harry Potter would now be old enough to attend a school, he'd done the maths, and while the whole of wizarding Britain assumed that the boy would attend Hogwarts, like all good British wizards should, Igor thought he might offer the boy an alternative to try to persuade the young 'saviour' to his school. He could already imagine the coup it would be to pull that feather right from under Dumbledore's nose and, luckily for him, Harry Potter doesn't even seem to need that much persuading. Join Harry as he learns to be a wizard in a very different magical environment and see the changes that can happen when you are free to make your own choices in life.
