The Took family’s collective sense of uncanny rebellion, adventure, curiosity, and overall lack of respectability aren’t the only reasons the rest of the Shire deemed them menaces. The family was never banished from the area, as the other Hobbits knew they were no match for the freaks of nature. Every generation of Took children, regardless of their other parent, have been born with something different. Something that the other Hobbits whisper about behind their hands when the clan passes. Something that has gotten them rude insults, glares, and even physical attacks. The Took clan Hobbits all have wings. And Bilbo “Mad Hobbit” Took is no exception. AKA, Bilbo gives no fucks and is way more powerful than his travelling companions could ever imagine.
